McCain chooses Sarah Palin as Vice President

8.30.08

What an amazing weekend! Never in my wildest dreams would I believe that McCain would actually pick Palin! Congratulations Governor Palin! It does my heart good to hear you are the VEEP nominee. I don’t know if my audience remembers, but I spoke in youtube video dated June 27, 2008 requesting that Palin be drafted as our VEEP. I created that youtube because personally, I think we need to drill for our own oil. BTW, Obama does NOT want us to drill for our own oil.

My hopes started to dwindle because I kept hearing about Jindal, Pawlenty, Romney, the Huckster and Cantor. I figured…..well…..maybe McCain is looking for a male since Obama chose Biden instead of Hillary. What a complete idiot! Obama was stupid not to choose Hillary and her 18 million votes. What the hell was he thinking? Perhaps he was too busy dusting Hillary off of his shoulder and getting a “jab” in every now and then. Don’t get me started on Obama’s thug following such as Luda who created rap songs referring to Hillary as a biyatch, and let’s not forget about the Obama supporters who wore “BROS BEFORE HOS” buttons and t-shirts.

Back to Palin….I love this woman! She is the epitome of what the Republican Party needs! She is tenacious! She is a hunter and life long NRA member! She is commander in chief to Alaska with regard to the National Guard! She has her own son in the armed forces serving our country! She is a maverick in her own right who will be supporting another Maverick, John McCain. She energizes us! She’s refreshing. MORE IMPORTANTLY, SHE IS PRO LIFE! She chose to keep her Down syndrome baby even though the doctor told her the baby would have the syndrome. She’s compassionate, yet a fighter. She’s against wasteful spending and protested the “bridge to no where”. She cares and she fights for what she believes in, and she sets a wonderful example for women. She is a cross between Princess Diana, Mother Teresa and Geraldine Ferraro. I was glad to hear that Hillary Clinton sent her congrats to palin today.

I remember watching a video of Hillary not too long ago where an Obama male supporter interrupted Hillary’s speech and told her repeatedly to iron his shirt. Wow. Perhaps the dude’s mommy never showed him how to do that stuff on his own. He probably has never been married.

I look forward to watching Sarah Palin and the Joe Biden debates. My gut tells me that she will cause Biden to cringe because Biden is one of the strongest supporters AGAINST drilling for our own oil in Alaska. Let me repeat this again. Biden is one of the strongest supporters against drilling for our own oil in ANWR.

Palin has tirelessly championed for her state to drill for oil and here are only some of the reasons why from ANWR.org:

1. Only 8% of ANWR Would Be Considered for Exploration Only the 1.5 million acre or 8% on the northern coast of ANWR is being considered for development

2. Federal revenues would be enhanced by billions of dollars from bonus bids, lease rentals, royalties and taxes.

3. Between 250,000 and 735,000 ANWR jobs are estimated to be created by development of the Coastal Plain.

4. The Coastal Plain of ANWR is America's best possibility for the discovery of another giant "Prudhoe Bay-sized" oil and gas discovery in North America. U.S. Department of Interior estimates range from 9 to 16 billion barrels of recoverable oil.

5. Imported Oil Too Costly In 2007, the US imported an average of 60% of its oil and during certain months up to 64%. That equates to over $330 billion in oil imports. That’s $37.75 million per hour gone out of our economy! Factor in the cost to defend our imported oil, and the costs in jobs and industry sent abroad, the total would be nearly a trillion dollars.

6. No Negative Impact on Animals Oil and gas development and wildlife are successfully coexisting in Alaska 's arctic.

7. Alaskans Support this. More than 75% of Alaskans favor exploration and production in ANWR which includes the Eskimos.

8. The Geological Survey and Congressional Research Service say it’s 95% likely that there are 15.6 billion barrels of oil beneath ANWR. With today’s prices and technology, 60% of that is recoverable. At $135 a barrel, that represents $1.3 trillion that we would not have to send to Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. It means lower prices and reduced risks of oil spills from tankers carrying foreign crude.

This election year will be about what we are paying at the gas pump. You know and I know that oil affects everything. It affects our food prices, it affects airlines and transportation methods, it affects everything we spend on. The dominating question Americans want to know is this: What are we going to do about reducing gas prices and rising inflation and living costs?!

The Obamanation minions can talk about Palin’s lack of experience all day long if they, and I would have to remind them of Obama’s lack of experience, also. Obama did not serve more than 100 weeks as junior senator before he decided to run for the Presidency. Palin is not running for the Presidential position. The experienced John McCain is. By the time McCain fulfills his 8 years, Palin will have had 8 Years of experience underneath her belt IF she decides to run for the POTUS position. Obama has less than 100 weeks as junior senator before he started run.

Never underestimate a woman’s power. A good woman like Palin is what McCain needs as VEEP. I’m happy that McCain promoted her and let’s not forget that our fellow black citizens received their right to vote BEFORE a woman was able to.

Long live the American Revolution. Long live the Reagan Revolucion. Don’t forget to visit johnmccain.com and become part of the cavalry. Have a good day and take care.

This week, House Republican leaders will brief the Conference on our plan, our solutions and our message. It is the result of many months of work by Republicans, including the "Reasons to Believe" working groups established by Leader Boehner Chairman McCotter and the House Republican Policy Committee Conference Vice Chair Kay Granger's WIN project our ranking members, our rank-and-file members and our party's presidential nominee, Senator John McCain.

Rep. Granger’s Families Agenda touches on the following topics:

SOLUTION #1: Assuring more time and money for America’s families via gas prices, flex hours, small business.

SOLUTION #2: Assuring health care and retirement security for America’s families via job security, retirements, nursing homes, and health care.

SOLUTION #3: Protecting America’s kids via online safety, and child protection.

SOLUTION #4: Assuring Education Access for America’s families via colleges costs and education.

SOLUTION #5: Supporting America’s military families and keeping our country safe via caring for vets/military families, national and border security.

McCain's appeal to Latinos

5.13.08

Latinos in Arizona who have known McCain for years weren't surprised by that exchange. When I ask them to explain what draws Latinos to McCain, I hear the same things: his independence, his convictions, his courage and his moderate stance on issues. Then, of course, there is his military service and his heroic suffering as a prisoner of war.

"If you look at Latino families, we've all got someone who has been in the military," said Ruben Alvarez, a McCain supporter and principal at the Molera Alvarez Group, a public affairs firm in Phoenix. "The fact that McCain is so patriotic is a draw for many Latinos."

Glenn Hamer writes:

Finally, McCain's 20-plus year record of support of Israel is unmatched among the candidates. He understands that Israel is a reliable ally in a turbulent part of the world. Unlike Barack Obama, McCain is not looking to engage in a conversation with the Holocaust denier Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who brags publicly that he will destroy Israel. Conversations would give that madman time to gain a nuclear weapon. As president, McCain would act diligently to oppose Iran's nuclear goals.

McCain is an authentic, independent and courageous leader. There is no better proof of this than the prized endorsement from independent Sen. Joe Lieberman. McCain is the right person to serve as our next commander in chief.
